Most Wisconsin residents know that car crashes can be life-altering. Because vehicles are massive and powerful, even a small collision can result in extreme physical and emotional consequences. Unfortunately, there are many negligent and careless drivers on the road, and car crashes happen every day. Recently, two local individuals were harmed in an automobile accident in the Milwaukee area.

A source reports that two people were harmed early Sunday morning in a collision on Highway 41. According to reports, the crash happened around 2:40 a.m. The two involved vehicles were traveling northbound when one car crossed a division line and struck the other motorist.

Two people in the hit vehicle were transported to the hospital with injuries. Furthermore, the driver of the car that crossed the division line will be charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated (OWI). In this particular case, if authorities officially determine that the crossing motorist was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, the victims who sustained injuries may be able to recover damages for their accident-related injuries.

While we try our best to avoid automobile accidents, negligent motorists can ultimately get in the way. This story is a great example of how careless driving can result in harm to innocent victims. As debilitated victims try to obtain appropriate medical care, legal recourse should be available to keep individuals financially secure. If you have been injured in a serious accident, you may want to speak to a lawyer about your options of recovery.
